Product description
Mobil Jet Oil 254 is a third generation, extra high performance synthetic aircraft type gas turbine oil designed to meet the performance requirements for gas turbine engines used in commercial and military aircraft. This product is specially prepared, formulated with a barrier-ester base and reinforced with a unique chemical additive package. Resistant to deterioration and deposit formation while preserving the physical properties required by its result-forming and military properties. It is a product with superior thermal and oxidation stability. The physical properties of Mobil Jet Oil 254 are similar to the lubrication of the current previous generation gas turbine. The oil effective operating range is between -40 ° C (-40 F) and 232 ° C (450 ° F).
Features and Benefits
Mobil Jet Oil 254 is formulated to meet the demanding requirements of state-of-the-art aircraft type gas turbines operating over a wide range of severe operating conditions. Compared to a typical Type II oil, Mobil Jet Petrol 254 reduces bulk oil oxidation by up to 50 percent and displays 50 F high deposit control ability. Such properties have been confirmed in various laboratory tests; Corrosion-Oxidation Stability Test, Alcor Deposition Test, Vapor phase Coker, Erdco High Temperature Bearing Test, Ryder Gear and Mobile Thin Film Oxidation Test.
Mobil Jet Oil 254 closely controlled low temperature viscosity provide good low temperature fluidity to allow good low temperature viscosity at low initial and lubrication temperatures below (-54 º C) pour point and lubrication temperatures as low as -40 º C. Extensive laboratory testing and In-flight experience, Mobil Jet Oil 254 exhibits excellent bulk oil stability at prolonged temperatures of up to 232 º C (450 ° F). At these temperatures the evaporation rate is low enough to prevent excessive loss of volume. The payload ability of Mobil Jet Oil 254 comes from its synthetic base viscosity, and therefore, the viscosity index is not subject to shear loss additive. Oil foam has excellent resistance.
Its key features and benefits are:
Properties
Advantages and Potential Benefits
Excellent thermal and oxidation stability reduces the formation of carbon and sludge beds
Keeps engine efficiency and extends engine life
50 º C increases by 50% and reduces deposit control oxidation of bulk oil
Excellent wear and corrosion protection Extends seal, gear and bearing
Reduces engine maintenance
Viscosity and shear strength over a wide temperature range provide effective lubrication at high temperatures
Reduces chemical high temperature reduces evaporation losses and constant oil consumption
Excellent resistance protects under harsh operating conditions film strength Foaming
Good low temperature fluidity Permit ensures effective lubrication of critical components at start-up and temperatures as low as -40 º F
Apps
Mobil Jet Petrol 254 is recommended for turbo-jet, turbo-fan, turbo-prop and turbo shaft (helicopter) aircraft gas turbine engines of the type used in commercial and military service. It is also suitable for aircraft type gas turbine engines used in industrial and marine applications.
Mobil Jet Oil 254 has been approved by US Military Specifications MIL-PRF-23699 (HTS) classification against High Thermal Stability. It is also compatible with meeting other synthetic gas turbine lubrication MIL-PRF-23699. However, mixing with other products is not recommended as Mobil Jet Oil 254 blend will result in some loss of superior performance properties.
Mobil Jet Petrol 254 is compatible with all metals used in full gas turbine construction, as well as with F Rubber (Viton A), Rubber H (Buna N) and other common seals.
