Description Castrol BioTac EP 2 is formulated with a base oil that is readily biodegradable in the aquatic environment, uses a lithium/ calcium soap thickener system and is primarily used on wire rope applications. Application Castrol BioTac EP 2 is suitable for wire rope lubrication.It possesses a high degree of mechanical stability and is resistant to water wash-off. It contains a specially selected system of additives to enhance corrosion protection, increase its resistance to oxidation and to provide a very good load carrying capability. The use of a synthetic base oil and mixed soap thickener enables good low temperature pumpability in central lubrication systems. Castrol BioTac EP 2 has an operating temperature range from -35°C to +120°C.
