Description
Castrol Ilocut 170 is a neat, sulphurised and chlorinated cutting oil, which is dark in color.
Applications
Castrol Ilocut 170 finds primary application in machining operations, which yield very fine swarf or involve
cutting parts of intricate shape.
This includes precision lathe work on steels, deep hole drilling and boring on steels, nickel alloys and other
non-ferrous metals.
• Castrol Ilocut 170 may also be used as a honing fluid.
Advantages
• Excellent tool life on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• The problem of fine swarf is never far from cutting operations on non-ferrous alloys, especially when drilling,
milling and boring aluminum alloys, phosphor bronzes and nickel alloys, due to its free flowing, penetrative
character.
Rapid flushing of swarf.
• Easy flow for pressurized delivery during deep hole boring.
• Assist settling of fine swarf.
• Versatility - an excellent honing fluid as well.
• Improved cutting performance on precision, high-speed operations.
• Suitability for difficult-to-machine metals such as stainless steel.
Suitability for severe honing operations such as diamond honing.
The extreme-pressure additives.
Good anti-weld properties.
PRECAUTIONS: Guard against water entry
