CASTROL Honilo 500

Description

Castrol HoniloTM 500 is a neat lapping fluid, which is designed for wet lapping operations to support abrasive powders in

suspension for long periods without sedimentation.

Honilo 500 is of a thixotropic nature, which implies a comparatively high viscosity under static conditions, but it thins down

rapidly under mechanical working, i.e. immediately when the lapping machine is set in motion. Consequently there Is no

appreciable time lag before the mixture of oil and abrasive attain maximum working fluidity.

Application

Castrol Honilo 500 has been specially formulated to mix with silicon carbide abrasives (normally of grit size 320) in the

ratio varying from 1:1 to 1:2 (Honilo 500: Silicon Carbide), and is specially recommended for lapping of various bevel and

hypoid gears. It is also used for flat tapping of stellited

rings with diamond abrasives.
