Description
Castrol Hyspin SHFTM hydraulic oil range of premium very high viscosity index lubricants are based on a carefully selected
ashless additive system designed to meet and exceed the most exacting performance standards.
Application
Hyspin SHF oils are formulated for hydraulic systems operating in extreme climatic conditions, for example forestry
equipment in Arctic climates. In these cases the high VI of Hyspin SHF is essential for ease of 'start up' in low
temperatures and protection at high temperatures. The selection of shear stable VI improvers ensures that the viscosity is
maintained at design levels in service.
The Hyspin SHF range is fully compatible with the elastomer materials commonly used for static and dynamic seals, such
as nitrile, silicone and fluropolymers.
Hyspin SHF is classified as follows:
DIN classification – HVLP
ISO 6743/4 - Hydraulic Oils Type HV
Hyspin SHF grades meet the requirements of:
DIN 51524 Part 3
Cincinnati Milacron (P 68-69-70)
Denison HF-0 & HF-2
US Steel 126 & 127
Eaton (formally Vickers) I-286-S & M-2950-S
Bosch Rexroth
Advantages
Very high viscosity index and low pour point makes the product suitable for extreme climatic conditions operating
over a wide temperature range and provides easy cold start up of equipment.
Outstanding filterability characteristics in both wet and dry conditions enables cost savings to be made due to
increased filter life.
Good shear stability means no excessive loss in viscosity due to mechanical shearing.
Excellent antiwear performance provides extended wear protection and reduced down time due to unscheduled
maintenance.
Superior thermal and oxidative stability provides reliable performance and extended oil life in severe applications.
Minimal deposit formation gives a cleaner system and reduced frequency of filter changes.
Excellent water separation and hydrolytic stability means reduced down time through prolonged lubricant life and
increased equipment reliability.
