Explanation
Castrol Braycote ™ Micronic 1613 is a smooth, off-white NLGI 2 lubricant. Uses Castrol Brayco 815z as base
the liquid is thickened with a special tetrafluoroethylene gelling agent with an average particle size of <0.8 microns. This
grease is fireproof and chemically inert. It offers excellent slipperiness, thermal stability, low volatility, good cutting
stability and low acute toxicity. Castrol Fluoroclean ™ X100 and Castrol Fluoroclean ™ can be used to remove
oil. For more information about these products, see their data sheets.
Application
Castrol Braycote Micronic 1613 is designed to lubricate gyroscopes, gears, ball and roller bearings in the presence of fuels,
for use as an assembly lubricant for oxidizers and deep cavity vacuums and O-rings and elastomers. This product
recommended for use in applications where extreme temperatures and high vacuums are routine. Perfluorinated
greases, in general, exhibit excellent shelf life due to their intrinsic inertness.
Temperature range: - 72ºC to 204ºC (100ºF to 400ºF)

Limitations
Castrol Braycote ® Micronic 1613 is compatible with all commonly used metals, plastics and elastomers. Castrol
Braycote ® Micronic 1613 can be negatively affected by Lewis acids such as aluminum chloride at high temperatures.
Under certain conditions, newly exposed friction surfaces of aluminum, titanium or magnesium can react with Castrol
Braycote ® Micronic 1613. Such systems should be thoroughly evaluated. Surfaces should be cleaned well from organic rust
inhibitors before applying grease to ensure proper lubrication. This product is not recommended for use in applications
under high vacuum with loads exceeding 100,000 psi for long time.
