Description
Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 was developed to lubricate switch plates over a broad temperature range. Even
under very wet conditions Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 adheres to the surface of the switch plates, and it
offers excellent corrosion protection superior to conventional non-biodegradable switch plate lubricants.
Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 is easily applicable by brush down to a temperature of - 50 °C.
Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 is based an synthetic ester and is readily biodegradable according to CEC L
33-A-93 (> 85%). A selection of high-quality additives and a selected blend of inorganic white solids provide for
outstanding friction and antiwear properties.
Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 is formulated an the basis of synthetic ester and a calcium thickener.
Rust and Oxidation inhibiting characteristics are maximized for effective rust protection, and a long life of the
grease.
Application
Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 is recommended for the use an switch plates exposed to adverse weather
conditions.
Temperature range - 50 °C up to + 80 °C.
Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 may be applied either manually by brush or by pressurized lubrication spraying
Advantages
With Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 no preheating or diluting with solvents is required before application, and it
is ready for application over a broad temperature range.
Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 offers outstanding water resistance. Properly applied, it remains stable even
when exposed to direct washing action of both hot and cold water.
At low temperatures Castrol Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 resists any tendency to Crack, pop or peel.
The selected blend of inorganic white solids provide a long lasting protective layer, reducing friction and wear.
The water resistance and excellent corrosion protection ensures extended relubrication intervals. Thus, Castrol
Molub-Alloy™ BioTop 9498 contributes to the protection of the environment and resources.
Additional Information
Lubrication intervals should be extended gradually to remove previous lubricant completely, and to establish a proper film
of lubricating solids.
