Description
Castrol Optileb ™ GR 9830 is a high temperature grease, composed of an oil and a thickener
synthetic and solid particles. This product was developed for the lubrication of rolling bearings and
plain bearings. Grease provides excellent anti-wear protection combined with relubrication intervals
extended.
This grease is perfectly suited for many applications in the food industry and
drinks, where minimum consumption, no dripping and
physiological safety.
Applications
Especially suitable for ovens and steamers in the food and bottling industry.
Grease can also be used in vacuum applications, due to its low volatility.
Continuous service is possible at temperatures of 250 ° C, for short periods up to 280 ° C.
Benefits
Very resistant to high temperature aging
Thermal and chemical stability
Resistant to most solvents such as: chlorinated hydrocarbons (1.1.1-trichloroethane, trichlorethylene,
tetrachlorethylene, chlorobenzene), to strong acids (hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid), to bases (for
example hydroxides) and oxidizing components (for example: acetone, benzene, BF3, fluorine, chlorine and
bromine, cyclohexane, LNG, ethylene acetate, THF, toluol, xylenes, methylformate and petroleum ether).
Exceptional lubricating properties.
Below 280 ° C, this lubricant is very resistant to the thickening and hardening process
intervenes for conventional greases based on mineral oils.
Extended relubrication intervals create economic benefits: reduced fuel consumption
even product and low maintenance costs.
Compatible with the following seals: NBR, EPDM, NR, MWQ, PVMQ, PA, PE, PUR, PTFE
Employment advice
As this grease is resistant to solvents, special solvents must be used for cleaning.
Continuous use above 250 ° C may develop very small amounts of toxic fumes, due to
chemical reactions. Efficient exhaustion or ventilation is required.
Additional information
Health Safety and Environment
The safety, hygiene and environmental instructions are mentioned on the data sheets of
security made available to users. They provide essential information on risks,
precautions and the first emergency measures to be taken, as well as on the disposal of the product and its effects on
the environment.
Storage
It is recommended to store the packaging under cover. If storage is outside, the drums must be
lying down and stored horizontally to avoid possible water ingress and erasure of the identification
of the product. The products must not be stored at a temperature above 60 ° C and must not be
exposed to strong sunlight, intense cold or large variations in temperature.
