CASTROL Rustilo™ JR 1

Description

Castrol Rustilo™ JR 1 (previously called JR-1) is solvent-based, water-displacing corrosion preventive, specifically

formulated based on a low volatile solvent in order to comply with the today’s VOC legislation.

This product deposits an almost imperceptible, thin greasy protective film after solvent evaporation.

Application

Rustilo JR-1 is recommended for use where previous operations expose the metal surface to water-based

contaminations, such as soluble cutting and grinding coolants, aqueous cleaners or water rinses.

The thin residual film provides effective short to medium-term indoor protection for ferrous and non-ferrous metals,

including aluminum.

Although Rustilo JR 1 can be applied by brushing or spraying, its dewatering action is most effective if the articles to be

protected can be immersed in a dip tank.

Rustilo JR 1 should be used as supplied for maximum water displacement and humidity protection performance.

If required protective films of Rustilo JR 1 can be easily removed by using a petroleum solvent or alkaline

process cleaner, all available from Castrol.
