Explanation
Castrol Braycote 804 is a smooth, buttery, translucent white NLGI # 1 lubricant based on a perfluoropolyeter base
oil. Thermally stable, fireproof, chemically inert to widely used fuels, solvents, corrosive chemicals
and oxidizers. Castrol Fluoroclean ™ X100 or Castrol Fluoroclean ™ can be used to remove this lubricant.
For information about these products, see their data sheets.
Application
Braycote 804 is designed for static and dynamic lubrication of tapered plug valves, seals and bearings in fuel
aircraft and ground support equipment systems. Also suitable for use in the presence of oxygen (LOX/GOX) )
and other high oxidative materials as a lubricant for valves, threads and bearings in aviation vehicles, and
supporting equipment. Perfluorinated greases, in general, exhibit excellent shelf life due to their intrinsic properties
still.

Compatibility
Braycote 804 is compatible with all commonly used plastic, elastomer and metallic building materials. He
it can be negatively affected by Lewis acids such as aluminum chloride at high temperatures. Friction
surfaces of aluminum, magnesium or titanium alloys can react with Braycote 804 under certain conditions. Such
systems must be thoroughly evaluated. Surfaces must be well cleaned from organic rust inhibitors before lubrication
application to ensure proper lubrication.
