CASTROL BRAYCO MICRONIC SBF E

Description

Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF E is an environmentally leading barrier fluid specifically formulated using fully synthetic

base oil for use in subsea rotating equipment and where a barrier fluid is required. The fluid is specifically formulated to

incorporate all the features required for reliable operation of high speed subsea gas compressors and subsea pumps

running under continuous duty cycle in the demanding subsea environment. This product has also been developed to provide electrical insulation and cooling of high power electric motors. It provides operators with an environmental alternative to conventional subsea barrier fluids, being fully compliant against North Sea OSPAR legislation (and tested in other required geographies).

Application

-Specifically formulated for use in subsea pumps and compressors requiring an oil based barrier fluid.

-Electrical insulation properties ensure suitability for internal cooling of high voltage electric motors.

-Provides a barrier against seawater ingress and process fluid ingress into system hardware.

-Low pour point ensures operation down to -50ºC in areas where low ambient temperatures prevail.

Storage

Any container that has been opened for use must be re-sealed to avoid contamination ingress from the environment

(e.g. particulates or water). Any contaminants entering the product can affect its performance. The integrity of the product

once the container is opened is the responsibility of the end user. It is good practice to use tarpaulins or drum lids to

cover all containers to prevent ingress of contamination. Contamination of Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF E with other fluid

types can seriously affect the product performance. To maintain fluid electrical insulation properties, it is critical to

ensure that Castrol Brayco Micronic SBF E is relatively dry. The product can be dried using vacuum dehydration

equipment to ensure that water content is maintained at a level suitable for the application. If you need advice on any of
