Product description
Mobil Glygoyle Series are high performance polyalkylene glycol based (PAG) oils that provide unmatched lubrication for gear, bearing and circulation system applications operating in extreme temperature conditions above the capacity of mineral oils. These oils have high shear stability and unmatched resistance to thermal degradation, oxidation, sludge and deposit formation. It contains additives that provide extreme pressure (EP) feature, anti-wear, rust and corrosion protection and foaming resistance without any adverse effect on the natural qualities of polyalkylene glycol base oils.
Mobil Glygoyle Series oils have a high viscosity index and an extremely low pour point due to their wax-free content. Friction and drag coefficients (such as incompatible contact surfaces in gears and bearings) are low compared to mineral oils. Superior lubrication characteristics result in low operating temperature in many applications.
Mobil Glygoyle Series products have performed unmatched in the harshest industrial conditions over a period of more than 25 years. These oils are recommended by leading manufacturers of plastic calenders, paper machine bearings, compressors and gears, and are often preferred for use under very harsh operating conditions.
Features and Benefits
Mobil Glygoyle Series brand oils are recognized and recognized around the world for their innovative and unique performance. These molecular engineered polyalkylene glycol synthetic products have been specially selected for the Mobil Glygoyle Series and represent the determination to use advanced technology to deliver unmatched product performance. Collaboration between our research scientists and application experts and equipment manufacturers has been a key factor in the development of the Mobil Glygoyle Series to ensure our products deliver the unmatched performance required by ever-evolving industrial designs.
Mobil Glygoyle products are primarily designed to meet critical high temperature demands in a wide range of industrial applications where mineral oils and other synthetic products do not produce the desired results. Properties such as low friction and shrinkage coefficient and low gas absorption have given these products a wider application area. Mobil Glygoyle Series oils provide the following features and potential benefits:
Features Advantages and Potential Benefits
Excellent thermal and oxidation stability, resistance to sludge and deposit formation Long oil life, increased production, less planned or unplanned maintenance downtime
Less maintenance and replacement costs
Low coefficient of pull and friction Lowers operating temperatures, improves equipment efficiency, reduces power consumption and extends seal life
Minimizes bearing micro-slip effect, extending component life
Very high thermal conductivity Reduces operating temperature, extends oil service life
Excellent low temperature fluidity Reduces power consumption and warms up quicker in low ambient temperatures for smoother operation
Prevention of gear wear at high temperatures for all-steel or steel-bronze metallurgy Reduces operating costs by preventing wear, reducing operating temperature and regular operation
Low absorption and viscosity reduction in pressurized hydrocarbon gases Creates a more protective oil film in natural gas compressors and extends oil life
Multi-purpose use in industrial equipment Provides low inventory cost with fewer products and prevents the use of wrong oil
Usage places
As with other polyglycol-based oils, Mobil Glygoyle products do not mix with mineral oils and are not added to systems operating with conventional mineral oils to supplement the level, and mineral-based oils should not be used as level completion oils in systems using Mobil Glygoyle products. Mobil Glygoyle Series is hygroscopic and does not separate from water. Thanks to its naturally high specific gravity, the water does not settle to the bottom of the tank. Mobil Glygoyle Series oils are compatible with most seal materials, but a wide variety of elastomer materials are used today. For best results, the company that supplied the equipment, the seal manufacturer or local Mobil representative should be consulted for compatibility.
Mobil Glygoyle lubricants are used in plain bearings, bearings and other industrial closed gear systems with system oil temperatures up to 200ºC. Special areas of application are:
Heavy-duty plastic calendering processes
- High temperature paper machine beds
- Industrial spur, helical and worm closed gear systems
Reciprocating and rotary air, natural gas, CO2 and other process gas compressors
Application notes
Polyalkylene glycol (PAG) based oils have excellent natural lubricating properties that come from PAG base oils. However, PAG-based oils are compatible with gaskets, paints and coatings, and some light metal alloys and other oils.
