Mobilect 44 is a high quality mineral insulating oil designed for transformers, switchgear and other electrical equipment and has superior dielectric properties and oxidation stability. Insulating oils can be supplied in two classes as protected and unprotected. Mobilect 44 is a protected grade, provides superior oxidation resistance and meets IEC 60296 (82) Class IA and IIA specifications.

The main benefits of Mobilect 44 are:
Mobilect 44 provides high resistance to thermal and chemical degradation in environments with iron and copper, thereby reducing the tendency to form sludge and oil-soluble oxidation products. Mobilect 44 is protected with a phenolic anti-oxidant to increase service life in applications with extensive air exposure. When low quality oils are used, residues that may occur in transformers prevent convection currents and prevent heat transfer. In addition, these deposits accelerate insulation defects and often cannot be removed without complete removal.
Mobilect 44 is subjected to special processes during its manufacture, especially for its moisture removal properties. Water reduces the electrical insulation properties of the oil and speeds up oxidation. A very important thing to remember is that dry oil is water absorbent and absorbs the moisture of the air. For this reason, oils must be kept in dry conditions and in fully closed containers.
Mobilect 44 dielectric strength is a measure of the oil's resistance to electrical stresses and is expressed in kV over a specified range under test conditions. This is not a measure for the quality of the oil, but is linked to the presence of contaminants in it - these include moisture, fibers, and polar chemicals.
Mobilect 44 is wax-free even at very low temperatures and therefore easily fluidity in external applications. Its viscosity level allows the oil to transfer heat with traveling convection currents. This feature is essential for quick cooling of arcs in switchgear.
The low pour points of Mobilect 44 oils allow free flow between transformer and conservator under all conditions and maintain the reliability of electrical connections even at the lowest temperatures.
Usage places
Mobilect 44 is recommended for oil-filled transformers and switchgear where oil is used as an insulating or heat transfer medium.
Mobilect 44 is used in applications where IEC 60296 (82) Class I A or II A products are specified.
This product is not used in oiled cables, special impregnation treatments or capacitors.
