Explanation
Castrol Braycote ™ 640ACMS is a NLGI Grade 3-1/2 lubricating grease based on perfluoroether.
it contains tetrafluoroethylene telomere and about forty percent molybdenum disulfide. Castrol Fluoroclean X100
this can be used to remove the lubricant. See the Fluoroclean X100 Data Sheet for information on this product.
Application
Braycote 640 ACMS is designed for use as lox compliant heavy duty grease for high load bearings and sliding surface
application. It can also be used as an anti-trapping and sealing compound for thread applications. BRAYCOTE is 640ACMS
suitable for use with fuels and oxidizers such as oxygen. Perfluorinated greases, in general, exhibit excellent shelf life
because of their internal inertness.

Temperature Range
-36ºC to 204ºC (- 30ºf to 400ºF) under Normal operating conditions and up to 260°C (500°F) for short periods. Low
temperature capacity is possible when sufficient torque is available.
Limitations
Braycote 640ACMS is compatible with all commonly used metals, plastics and elastomers. This may be adversely affected
Lewis acids such as aluminum chloride at high temperatures. Friction surfaces of aluminum, magnesium or other materials.
under certain conditions, titanium alloys can react with this product. Such systems should be thoroughly evaluated.
Surfaces must be well cleaned from organic rust inhibitors before applying grease to ensure proper lubrication. This
the product is not recommended for use in high vacuum applications with loads exceeding 100,000 psi for long-term use.
