Compared to conventional soap-base thickeners (eg lithium, aluminum, calcium soaps), the calcium sulphonate thickener used in the Mobil Centaur XHP 460 Series stands out in water-saturated environments, providing rust protection between long lubrication intervals. The natural EP properties show a high stability in the presence of water, providing a balance between corrosion protection and corrosion resistance.
